ELGAR — a European Laboratory for Gravitation and Atom-interferometric Research proposal got featured in Physics World Magazine on November 14, 2019. You can read the article at their website.
ELGAR is the only project of research infrastructure in Europe based on matter-wave interferometry. It would use atom interferometry to detect gravitational waves at low frequencies. The laboratory would cost around €200m to build and it could be located either in Italy or France. Scientists from six European countries, who proposed the project, are now applying for funding to carry out a detailed design and costing for the facility.
